Women's Tennis Falls To VCU

RICHMOND, VA - 16th-ranked Virginia Commonwealth won the doubles point and three singles matches to edge Old Dominion 4-3 Sunday at the Thalhimer Tennis Center. The Lady Monarchs fall to 3-2 on the year with both losses coming at the hands of ranked squads. The Rams improved to 6-0. The Rams swept the doubles points defeating the ODU's No. 1 doubles team of Nataly Cahana (Qiriat Bialik, Israel) and Fernada Luiz (Belo Horizonte, Brazil), 8-0, and Coralie Herrmann () and Larissa Santos, 8-3, at No. 2 doubles.
The Lady Monarchs picked up wins at No. 1 singles as 33rd ranked Nataly Cahana defeated Olga Borisova in three sets, 7-6, 3-6, 10-8. Larissa Santos also picked up a victory for the Lady Monarchs defeating VCU' Cristina Arribas, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1, at No. 4 singles. The Lady Monarchs picked up a win at No. 6 singles by default.
